Early voting began on Oct. 19 and ends Oct. 30. It takes place at the Judge Val Beard Office Complex, 203 N. 7th Street.
Early voting is available Oct. 19-23, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 24, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 25, 1 p.m.-7 p.m.; and Oct. 26-30, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
On Oct. 29, the university will have a walk-to-the-polls event. Those who wish to attend will meet in front of UC, facing the mall area at 1 p.m. and stop at Scoops on the way back for a treat. Voting is not required to attend the event.
You must be registered in Brewster County to vote; the deadline for voter registration was Oct.5.
If you still need to vote by Nov. 7, voting day, you must cast your ballot at your precinct polling location.
You need to make sure you have a valid form of ID, and if not, you can fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polling place and show one of the following supporting documents: a voter registration certificate (the card mailed to you after registering), a certified domestic birth certificate or court document showing a legal name change, a current utility bill, a bank statement, a government check, a paycheck, or any other government document that shows your name and an address (must be an original document if showing an address).
Optional items to bring are your voter registration card or certificate and notes, as cell phones are not permitted in the voting booths.
