First published in 1923, The Skyline began as a weekly school newspaper and remained as such until the late 2000’s when the publication transitioned to a biweekly magazine during the fall and spring semesters. Now, the Skyline is printed monthly during the first week of each month. It is distributed throughout campus and copies are given to local businesses as well. “Our vision here at the Skyline is to bring light to the issues that impact the Sul Ross community through the transparent, independent, fair and balanced reporting of news and opinion” said Sid Balman, veteran journalist and Pulitzer Prize nominee. As student journalists, we strive to inform our fellow students of campus events, hold administration accountable, and provide accurate, reliable information to our readers by thinking holistically and critically about the stories we publish.
