2024 New Year’s Resolutions

“I really don’t have a specific resolution...but I have a goal to try and focus more on my overall health. Start to be active again, and try to eat better food.”

-Melissa Schenkman, Assistant Director of Transfer Initiatives

“Mine was to learn how to make cold process soap and to make bread from scratch.”

-Autumn McFadden, SRSU Student

“To have a more consistent and positive mindset, and keep up that Duolingo streak.”

-Alyn Covington, SRSU Student

“My New Year’s resolution is to remember to enjoy the little things, smile, and remember the little moments.”

-Ycela Ortiz, SRSU Student

“Love more. Let others and myself know I love them more often: family, friends, my dogs, cat, life, myself, my students, and those in need (including my plants, flowers, and garden). I think we (me) often get wrapped up in our daily routines and forget to take time to love more. Some could say this would come under the heading of gratitude but saying thank you (which is very important) takes so little time. I want to show love and take the time to share that love.”

-Kathleen Rivers, Director of McNair Grant

“I want to eat out less and cook healthier meals. I intend to go to the gym and stay consistent with it. I also plan to read more books and limit my time on social media.”

-Heaven Briceno, SRSU Student

“My New Year’s Resolution is to improve my mental health through changes in various parts of my everyday life. Eating better, exercising more, getting out and socializing more, etc.”

-Dawson Beard, Skyline Desk Chief

“To be more organized and set up sustainable systems to stay organized!”

-Johanna Covington, Skyline Reporter

“My New Year’s Resolutions are to stop procrastinating, try new things, travel to at least one place I’ve never been before, and consistently make time for myself.”

-Brooke Manuel, Skyline Editor
